Week 4 - Building Connection and Resilience Through Games and Activities

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
This week may have been shorter than usual due to the holiday, but it was filled with important moments of connection, growth, and reflection.
The days started with engaging games that sparked teamwork and friendly competition. Playing electronic Monopoly brought everyone together in teams, with laughter and strategy filling the room. Later, the song game kept the excitement going, as everyone jumped into the fun with energy and enthusiasm. These games gave the chance to lead and participate actively, which was wonderful to see.
Other activities included favorites like Uno, Ladder Ball, Coup, and Checkers. These moments not only brought smiles but also opened the door for meaningful conversations about personal interests and feelings. The cozy corner, with its quiet and comforting atmosphere, became a topic of discussion as a favorite spot for relaxing with snacks, watching videos, or playing games.
There was also time for deeper discussions about challenges like sleep difficulties and managing discomfort. Light and sound sensitivities and the CPAP machine were tough topics, but they were handled with patience and compassion. Sharing these struggles was emotional but also an important step in working toward solutions.
New activities were introduced, like yoga. Matching cards with yoga poses turned into a fun way to learn and explore, and a selection of poses was made for future sessions. The focus on mindfulness and movement was a great addition to the week’s schedule.
Along the way, there were lighthearted and playful moments, including rounds of pool noodle games and a creative spin on traditional board games. These activities offered chances to stay active, interact, and enjoy the time spent together.
This week was a beautiful reminder of how connection, creativity, and compassion can shine through, even in shorter or more challenging moments. From games to deeper conversations, every step taken showed resilience, growth, and a willingness to engage. It’s these moments that make all the difference.
